On Friday, June 4, Siobhan O’Sullivan underwent her last round of chemotherapy. Reaching such a tremendous moment in her cancer battle called for a celebration and Beach 133rd’s beach block knew just the way to show their support.
Neighbors gathered wearing orange shirts with Siobhan’s name, raising awareness for pediatric cancer, and lined the street as Siobhan arrived. What started out as a beautiful day shortly became cloudy. Lightning flashed, thunder boomed and the skies opened, but it didn’t deter the block from being there for their neighbor. As Siobhan arrived with her mom, the orange-clad neighbors greeted her with umbrellas in hand.
Siobhan O’Sullivan was diagnosed with leukemia in May 2019. Through long hospital stays, more than 40 rounds of chemo and lots of medication, Siobhan has remained strong in her battle and has persevered toward a successful end to her treatment. Her supportive neighbors and community have been there from the start, cheering her on through her journey.
