Last Wednesday, July 14, a sea of realtors took over the Belle Harbor Yacht club for a Christmas in July celebration. RE/MAX Elite, a new edition to the local real estate scene, treated its agents to a fun-filled afternoon complete with dining, dancing and an awards ceremony to honor their agents’ hard work in 2020. “Since all celebrations in 2020 were put on hold, we really wanted to do something special for our agents to let them know how much we appreciate them,” Melissa Carrington, Owner/Broker of the Rockaway Beach office, said.
Carrington, a local resident and top producing agent, joined the RE/MAX Elite Bay Ridge office in 2018. RE/MAX Elite’s founders and fellow partners, Sal Carola, Robert Coppolino and Joseph Madaio quickly realized what a vibrant market the Rockaways had become and made the decision to put down roots in Rockaway Beach. “Having three other offices located in Bay Ridge, Tottenville and New Dorp, Rockaway was the perfect tie in,” Madaio said. With Melissa’s help, RE/MAX Elite opened its doors at 90-15 Rockaway Beach Blvd and has been growing ever since. "We wanted to give this community and other local agents new options. RE/MAX is the most recognized name in real estate and offers more tools, training, support and networking than any other company,” Carola added.
“We have formed a fabulous group of agents and are extremely proud to have them on our team,” Rob Coppolino said. The Company, said Carrington, really goes all out for its agents, and are treated like family. RE/MAX Elite rented a bus to transport agents from its offices safely to and from the party which carried over to the Wharf Bar and Grill.
In lieu of a toy donation, RE/MAX Elite collected products to donate to Rockaway WISH’s RECOVERY BAG initiative which helps women undergoing major surgery to keep them comfortable and supported post-op. In addition, each office will be collecting more donations through the end of the month from agents who couldn’t attend the party. “We really believe in giving back. That was part of my decision-making process to join, when interviewing companies. RE/MAX is affiliated with the Children’s Miracle Network and we donate a portion of all closing proceeds in honor of our buyers/sellers to support the cause,” Carrington said.
It doesn't stop there, RE/MAX Elite was also instrumental in donating food to first responders during the pandemic, they participated in the April community clean up, sponsor The Rockaway Little League, The Rockaway Beach Volleyball League, BCAC and events such as the RockStock skate surf and music festival. RE/MAX Elite intends to be a big part of this community's bright future.
If you have not had the chance yet, stop by and say hello to Melissa Carrington and her team of fantastic agents!
