The Rockaway Hotel is showing people the hospitality way. After a successful job training program in the hospitality industry in April, In Good Company Hospitality and 7G Group are doing it again. The Rockaway Hotel’s free, six-week Hospitality Way Program begins October 25.
When they launched the program in April, 25 participants entered the program to learn about opportunities and receive training in the hospitality industry. Six went on to secure jobs in the hospitality industry and four are now employed through The Rockaway Hotel, including in restaurant service, front-desk administration and housekeeping. Now they’re launching the program again to give more people the opportunity to learn, starting October 25.
Through hands-on training and real-life applications, participants will be equipped with the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to enter and advance within the hospitality industry. Guest speakers and leaders of the industry will help make participants feel inspired and ready to complete the interview process and ultimately gain employment. At the end of the six-week program, The Hospitality Way will be hosting a job fair filled with local businesses looking to make new hires. The minimum age to participate is 17 and sign-ups can be found at www.thehospitalityway.com
Owner/Operators of IGC, Terence Tubridy and Jeff Brosi, both know how powerful the education process can be for the hospitality industry. “For years we have been training and educating the importance of hospitality and entrepreneurship with our employees. We are now excited to help broaden that message with people who are seeking growth for their own careers. We feel education is a form of empowerment and when you add in hospitality. it leads to a recipe of success.”
