Rockaway Artisans for Mutual Aid

On Saturday, April 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., stop by Rockaway Brewing Co. on Beach 72nd Street for a pop-up featuring goods by local artisans to help support Rockaway Mutual Aid.

 

Spring Bloom Market

On Saturday, April 24 and Sunday, April 25, Betsy’s Bungalow (120-05 Newport Avenue) is hosting a spring market featuring dozens of local vendors. Stop by for those Mother’s Day gifts and more.

 

Skate Against Sexual Assault

On Sunday, April 25, starting at 12 p.m., GrindTime Skateshop is hosting a group skate along the boardwalk from Beach 90th to Bayswater Skatepark to raise awareness against sexual assault. Meet at GrindTime (90-20 Rockaway Beach Blvd.). There will also be a beginner skate lessons at 2 p.m. at Bayswater Skatepark.

 

The Gift of Love Cleanup

On Sunday, April 25, join The Gift of Love Inc. for a cleanup at Beach 59th and Rockaway Beach Blvd, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Gloves, bags and masks will be provided. Community service hours available.

 

Beach Beautification Event

On Sunday, April 25, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., join the Green Army for a beach cleanup and planting. Meet at Dredsurfer Grill (16-27 Seagirt Blvd.) Bring masks, gloves, reusable water bottles and lunch for a picnic to follow.

 

Parks and Public Safety Committee

On Tuesday, April 27, join for the CB14 Parks Committee meeting at 7 p.m. on Zoom. They will discuss construction at the Broad Channel All American Ballfield and beach concession satellite locations for beach gear and rentals. Fundraiser for Mike Scala

Senior Writing Workshops

Those 50 and older can join Kingsborough College’s five-week writing workshops for free. Basic writing workshops for beginnings will take place on Mondays at 4 p.m. starting April 26.
