The Graytrippers at Whit’s

Looking for some live music? Head to Whit’s End on Beach 97th Street on Friday, May 21 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. to catch The Graytrippers featuring Lou Pastina, Joe Kenel, Dan Khlohe and Squid!

 

Paddle Out for George Floyd

The Black Surfing Association is holding another paddle out for George Floyd on Saturday. May 22 at 9 a.m. starting at Beach 91st Street. This paddle out will be 25 blocks and go on to Beach 116th Street. Extra boards will be on hand for those who don’t have them.

 

Ryan Rudden Memorial Hockey Tournament

On Saturday, May 22, starting at 10 a.m., head to the Beach 108th hockey rink for the annual Ryan Rudden Memorial Hockey Tournament. Watch some hockey and help raise funds for Olivia Benedetto, a young girl from Roxbury left paralyzed after a skiing accident. There will be 50/50 tickets and an after party at RBQ from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. with food, drinks, music and more for $50 per person.

 

Respect Jamaica Bay Cleanup

On Saturday, May 22, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., head to Rockaway Community Park (63-81 Almeda Ave) for a beach and marsh cleanup with Jamaica Bay-Rockaway Parks Conservancy and Surfrider Foundation - NYC Chapter. Book Signing

On Saturday, May 22 at 2 p.m., head to Avoid the Day Bookstore (99-04 Rockaway Beach Blvd) as local author Glenn Lawson will be doing a signing and reading of his new book "It's Curtains For You! Working With Design Whims Of The Wealthy."

Full Flower Moon Hike

On Wednesday, May 26 at 8 p.m., head to the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge for a guided hike around the trail to watch and learn about the full flower moon.  Space will be limited, so register by calling 718-318-4340. Face mask required. 

 

Yoga on the Beach

Kevin Campbell is back with yoga/human movement classes on Beach 104th Street on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Head to the beach and get your om on.

 

Fort Tilden Hike

Every Sunday at 10:30 a.m., join a park ranger for a walking tour of Fort Tilden, highlighting the fort's role in the defense of New York City during the 20th Century. Call 718-338-3799 to reserve. Tour will be capped at 10 participants. Social distancing will be maintained.  Face mask required.

 

Free Cardio Punch Fitness Classes
