Full Beaver Moon Walk

On Friday, November 9 at 6 p.m., head to the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge for a hike around the Refuge to learn about the name behind the beaver moon and look for signs for wildlife. Space will be limited, so register by calling 718-381-4340.


NurtureU Wellness Workshop

On Sunday, November 21 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., head to NurtureU Wellness (120-20 Rockaway Beach Blvd) for an afternoon of self discovery, healing and fun. Book signing with Enchantress Shane, a deep dive into journaling with Neva, relaxing DIY with Marie and crystal exploration with Samantha. Space is limited, call 347-727-7014.


Meet the Greeks Fundraiser

On Saturday, November 20 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., meet the Far Rock Greek Council at Batesy’s BBQ (6820 Rockaway Beach Blvd) and enjoy happy hour specials at this fundraising event. For every $30 giftcard Batesy’s sells, they’ll donate a Thanksgiving dinner to the FRGC’s Thanksgiving feast.


Native People of New York

On Sunday, November 21 at 10 a.m., head to the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge to hear about the Native peoples who have historically and currently live in the New York metropolitan area.


Turkey Trot 5K

On Sunday, November 21, burn some extra calories at Rockapulco Run’s annual Turkey Trot. The run starts at 9 a.m. on the boardwalk on Beach 116th Street. Register at 


Interfaith Thanksgiving Service

On Monday, November 22 at 7 p.m., all are welcome to St. Francis de Sales Church on Beach 129th Street for an interfaith Thanksgiving service with West End Temple.  They will also pay tribute to the late Lew Simon. A potluck dessert reception will take place after.


Far Rock Greek Council Operation Feast

On Thursday, November 25 at 12 p.m., Far Rock Greek Council will be hosting a thanksgiving meal and giveaway at 1033 Beach 20th Street in Far Rockaway. Donations of prepared food, baked goods, canned/dry food, clothes and monetary donations are being collected. Volunteers welcome. Black Friday Jamaica Bay Cleanup

On Friday, November 26 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. join the Jamaica Bay-Rockaway Parks Conservancy, American Littoral Society, NYC Plover Project and National Parks Service for a marsh and shoreline cleanup at the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge. On the day after Thanksgiving, volunteers will help remove trash from this important habitat in New York City's unique urban wildlife refuge. Gloves, bags, tools will be provided. Questions? BHYC Holiday Boutique

Broad Channel Crafters Fair

On Friday, December 3 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, December 4 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., head to the American Legion (209 Cross Bay Blvd) in Broad Channel to shop for homemade crafts, candy, cakes, etc. Raffles and 50-50. Kitchen will be Open. All proceeds benefit American Legion Veterans Programs.


Dance Fitness

On Saturdays at 9 a.m. at Beach 32nd Street and the boardwalk NYC Parks for a free, fun and funky low to medium impact dance fitness class.


Cardio Punch

On Saturdays at 11 a.m. at Beach 59th Street Playground, join NYC Parks for a free total body, non-contact workout fit for all levels.
