Youth Services & Education Committee Meeting

Edgemere Community Visioning Forum

On Saturday, February 19 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. attend the third Forum for the Edgemere Community Visioning Process to engage Edgemere residents and stakeholders in creating a Community Agreement for the use of nearly 60 vacant lots. Laru Beya Beach Cleanup

On Saturday, February 19 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., join Laru Beya Collective on Beach 67th Street for a beach cleanup. Water, snacks, bags, and gloves will be provided, but try to bring your own water bottles/cups to help reduce the carbon footprint! The clean-up will be focused on the boardwalk, surrounding streets (B 62nd, B 67th, B 69th, B 73rd, etc.) and sidewalks.


Team Sister Strong Fundraiser

On Saturday, February 19 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., head to RBQ on Beach 98th to help support the O’Sullivan family’s Team Sister Strong fundraiser for LLS. Joanne Smith and Suzanne Culleton will be behind the bar while The Locals play some tunes.  50/50 and more.


Who is the National Park Service?

On Sunday, February 20 at 10 a.m., head to the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge to join a park ranger to explore the history and mission of the National Park Service, both nationally and in New York City. Reservations are required, please call (718) 318-4340.

AOH St. Patrick’s Dance

On Saturday, February 26 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., head to the Knights of Columbus (33 Beach 90th) for a night of live entertainment by Fool’s Night Out, open bar and buffet. Tickets are $75. For info, contact John Fahy at 917-359-1936.


BCVFD Installation Dance

On Saturday, February 26 at 7 p.m., join the Broad Channel Volunteer Fire Department at 209 Cross Bay Blvd for their Annual Officer’s Installation Dinner as they install the 2022 Chiefs and Officers. Rockaway St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Save the date! The 47th Queens County St. Patrick’s Day will be Saturday, March 5 at 1 p.m. starting at Beach 130th and Newport Ave.
