Rockaway Market Street

On Saturday, June 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., head under the elevated A train track at Beach 60th for an outdoor market including vendors such as: Blacksmith’s Breads, Edgemere Farm, Horman’s Best Pickles, Mushroom Queens, Rockaway Soda, Saratoga Peanut Butter Company, and more! Live music.


Clare Droesch Street renaming

On Saturday, June 4 at 11 a.m., head to the intersection of Cronston Ave and Beach 134th Street to celebrate a street renaming in honor of Clare Droesch, a basketball legend who made a big difference in the community in her short life.


Horseshoe Crab Festival

On Saturday, June 4 at 11 a.m., head to the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge for the 6th annual Horseshoe Crab Festival! During the full and new moons of May and June, female horseshoe crabs come in Jamaica Bay to lay eggs – a crucial food source for migrating shorebirds. During this festival you’ll see experts handle live horseshoe crabs and learn about their important ecological and medicinal values. For more information, call (718) 318-4340.


Irish Festival

The AOH Irish Festival is next weekend, June 4 and 5, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. both days at St. Camillus’ lot on Beach 100th and Shore Front. Bands, vendors, rides and face painting for kids, etc. $15 for adults, tickets at the gate. Kids 12 and under are free.


Hope Day

On Saturday, June 4, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., join House on the Rock Church at 112-08 Rockaway Beach Blvd. for a day of community fun including music, free raffles, a grocery giveaway, a bbq, a kid zone and more.


Community Cleanup & Kayak Paddle

On Sunday, 5 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., head to Dubos Point at Beach 65th and DeCosta Ave on Jamaica Bay to join RISE in a cleanup of the Bay’s shoreline, followed by free access to kayaks to use and explore the bay following the cleanup. Community service hours available. All ages. Those under 18 need a guardian to sign a waiver.


Fundraiser for Preterm Babies

On Sunday, June 5, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., head to124 Beach 62nd Street in Arverne to shop from local clothing, décor, food vendors and more, and buy raffle tickets for some nice prizes. All proceeds are in honor of baby Josie and support Project Sweet Peas.


Rock N’ Clean Sundays

Every Sunday at 10 a.m., meet at the Adventure Park on Beach 101 and Shorefront for a free 30 minute workout and 30 minute beach cleanup.


Hatha Yoga with Soupy

On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays starting May 9, head to Beach 102nd at 8:30 a.m. for yoga on the beach with Kevin Soupy Campbell.


Shape Up NYC: Cardio Punch

Every Saturday through June 25, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., join at Beach 59th Street and the boardwalk for a free Cardio Punch fitness class presented by NYC Parks. Bring a towel and water.


Wildflower Wednesdays

Every Wednesday through June 8 at 3 p.m., head to the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge to

embark on a quest to spot and welcome all the blooms that Jamaica Bay has to offer. Allages are welcome. This is an all-weather walk, so dress for the conditions. Space is limited, so register by calling 718-318-4320.
