Rockaway Market Street

On Saturday, June 25 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., head under the elevated A train track at Beach 60th for an outdoor market including vendors such as: Blacksmith’s Breads, Edgemere Farm, Horman’s Best Pickles, Mushroom Queens, Rockaway Soda, Saratoga Peanut Butter

Company, and more! Live music.

 

Jamaica Bay Rangers Choice: Shorebirds

On Saturday, June 25 at 10 a.m., head to the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center and join a ranger led tour on the east pond seasonal trail. There you will learn to observe the common shorebirds that migrate through Jamaica Bay. All ages are welcome. Dress for the conditions. Space is limited, so register by calling (718) 318-4340.

 

June Garden Party

On Saturday, June 25 at 10 a.m., head to the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge to help garden! Help take care of the Pollinator Garden by watering plants, pulling weeds and clearing debris. Time spent will count towards volunteer participation. Space is limited, so register by calling (718) 318-4340.

 

Plant Swap Soiree

On Saturday, June 25 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., head to the RISE Center (58-03 Rockaway Beach Blvd) for a plant swap party. Feel free to bring plants (cuttings or rooted), seeds, tools, your favorite soil mix, plant decor, recycled pots to share, or even veggie seedlings to swap. You can pick up a new plant to add to your collection, talk all things planty, meet new friends and more. Raffles and free gifts. You don’t need to bring a plant to attend. Masks required.

 

Sanitation Museum Opening Event

On Saturday, June 25 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., head to the Ryan Visitor Center at Floyd Bennett Field to check out the new Sanitation Museum pop up. There will be refreshments, public remarks, and a DSNY touch-a-truck event for children and adults.

 

Summer Kickoff

On Saturday, June 25 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., head to the Beach 108th Hockey Rink for a day of summer fun. There will be music, games, amusement, giveaways, mechanical ride, arts and crafts, and refreshments.

 

E-Cycling Event

On Sunday, June 26, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., grab your old electronics that you want to get rid of and head to Ohab Zedek on Beach 134th and RBB for an e-cycling event sponsored by Councilwoman Ariola.

 

100th Precinct Community Council

Floyd Bennett Field Kayaking

On Saturdays and Sundays at 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., head to Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn for a free kayaking program for beginners. Open to those ages 6 and up. Kayaks and life jackets provided. Bring snacks, water and sunscreen.

 

Hatha Yoga with Soupy

On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays starting May 9, head to Beach 102nd at 8:30 a.m. for yoga on the beach with Kevin Soupy Campbell.

 

Yoga On the Beach w/ Sonia

Every Saturday at 10 a.m., head to Beach 32nd and the boardwalk to join yoga instructor Sonia for free meditation and movement stretches. Bring a towel, yoga mat, and water.

 

Shape Up NYC: Cardio Punch

Every Saturday through June 25, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., join at Beach 59th Street and the boardwalk for a free Cardio Punch fitness class presented by NYC Parks. Bring a towel and water.
