Let’s go fly a kite! On a very windy Saturday, May 30, Rockaway did just that with the help of Rockaway Film Fest and Ladies & Gentlemen Studio’s FLYING HIGH one-day kite celebration.
On Saturday, kids and adults stopped by Beach 94th Street to enjoy kite making with materials provided by Material for the Arts and workshops led by Maharam Studio and Benevolent Objects, before flying their own kites among those displaying unique kites for an exhibit. The event included live music at the Beach 94th Street Amphitheater by Tini Vessel, and concluded with a screening of the classic film, “Mary Poppins.”
