The Scholars’ Academy Seawolves secured a 7–3 victory over Cardozo on Friday, May 2, in a game that was about more than just the score. The evening also served as a heartfelt tribute to the team’s lone senior, Tommy Connors, in what was fittingly dubbed “Tommy Night.”
Tommy, who will graduate this June and plans to attend St. John’s University in the fall, was honored in front of a lively home crowd of over 100 spectators. His mother, Rosanna Connors, threw out the ceremonial first pitch. Prior to the game, two musicians from Scholars’ Academy performed a wonderful rendition of the National Anthem.
Following the win, fans and players came together to celebrate Tommy’s contributions to the team and his bright future ahead.
