Belle Harbor resident Sid Rosenberg, host of the top major market radio talk show in America, has been elected to the New York State Broadcasters Association (NYSBA) Hall of Fame. Rosenberg and other honorees will be inducted in a ceremony on October 22.
In the letter announcing his election, the NYSBA told Rosenberg, “Your career has been outstanding… while successful at WFAN and 1010 WINS, you have become a radio legend in your 10 years at 77WABC.”
Rosenberg expressed his appreciation for this honor in the context of life’s ups and down. “No need to rehash my personal issues that derailed me over the years,” said Rosenberg, “but a Hall of Fame induction seemed unlikely not that long ago. But I never quit. And I never doubted my vision and talent. To say I’m emotional and grateful is an understatement! So many to thank but I’ll start with God and family.”
Rosenberg’s career dates back to the 1990s, beginning with internet broadcasts in 1997 and his
first terrestrial radio job in 1999 in Fort Lauderdale. Over the next 27 years he added legendary New York stations that include WNEW, WFAN, 1010 WINS, and WABC to his on-air resume. His initial focus was sports. Rosenberg had sports programs syndicated on three different Florida stations.
Rosenberg hit it big in news talk in 2016, co-hosting the “Bernie and Sid” show on WABC with Bernard McGuirk. That pair eventually took over the morning drive-time slot that for years was anchored by Don Imus, another radio legend. After McGuirk passed away from cancer in 2022, the show was rebranded as Sid & Friends in the Morning.
“Sid Rosenberg is a true New York original and national treasure,” said Congressman Mike Lawler. “Provocative, funny, passionate, unrelenting — he cares deeply about the issues that impact New Yorkers. A well-deserved honor for a great American.”
Former Congressman Anothony D’Esposito also shared his congratulations. “A hearty Mazel Tov to my dear friend, Sid Rosenberg, on his induction into the Hall of Fame. He has overcome tremendous challenges, fought his way back from difficult times, and built an extraordinary career through grit, faith, and perseverance. Along the way, he has remained a fearless voice for law enforcement, a staunch supporter of Israel, and a proud advocate for conservative values. This honor is richly deserved. Congratulations, my friend.”

Rosenberg, his wife Danielle, and their two children moved to Belle Harbor in 2022. He is frequently seen patronizing local businesses like La Sorrentina and Pico. Rosenberg also coaches his son’s basketball team in the Summer Classic.
