Some Heroes Don’t Wear Capes

Dear Editor:

I admire retired Colonel Tom Sullivan’s humility, especially after his four tours of duty serving our country. He rarely uses his time serving our country as a reason why he should be our next NYS Assemblyman. I personally believe that anyone who would sign up for four tours to serve our country and take an oath to defend the people in our country deserves to be able to one day represent us as an elected leader.

My father-in-law served in World War II and very rarely spoke about his days in the Navy. He was from a generation that went to war and hoped that his children would be able to continue to live free and have a better life. Tom reminds me of him; he carries on the work that needs to be done. He served his country so we could all have a better life. He doesn’t boast about his achievements in his life, not even on a campaign trail. He respects everyone, it doesn’t matter what party you belong to.

Retired Colonel Tom Sullivan was already a leader to many. Let him once again be our leader, representative in the NYS Assembly.

Please remember to come out and vote for Retired Colonel Tom Sullivan on November 3, 2026
