As the calendar changes to August, the 42nd St Francis Summer Classic heads into the final week of the regular season and the start of the playoffs.
Paul’s Bicycle Shop remains undefeated in Boys Grammar Middle with Jets Towing and T. Moriarty & Son right behind. The MeatUp Grill is undefeated in Boys Grammar Senior with J. Caiazzo Plumbing & Heating and O’sh, Kill, Wood, Ace, Mann & Delaney on their tail. Creamer Street Realty is the last undefeated team in Boys High School pursued by New York Surf School and Bedford Funding.
The Girls Grammar Senior division has a logjam at the top with Brooklyn Window and Door, SFDS Catholic Academy, and McManus-Leahy Basketball Camp. Girls High School has a tie for first between Mullin Basketball Camp and Customer XR.
Jamesons is poised to land the top seed in the Clare Droesch Women’s Open division. BigMamaStef is waiting in the wings. A&S at the Harbor continues to lead Division 1 of the Tim Klein Mens Open. JG Electric could still pull out a first-place finish. Jamesons is first n Division 2 with MLF right behind.
The Graybeards Championships are tonight, Thursday, July 30, at St. Camillus. Team Loconte faces off against Team Neligan in the Legends game at 7 p.m. and Team Dier takes on Team Henderson in the Young Guns championship at 8 p.m.
Playoffs begin for some divisions next week with Womens Open Quarterfinals on Tuesday, August 4, Boys High School first round on Wednesday, August 5, and Mens Open Quarterfinals on Thursday, August 6.
Playoffs for the other divisions begin the following week. All is subject to the weather cooperating.
