Dear Editor:
After a devastating fire left our home in Breezy Point uninhabitable and my family navigating nearly nine months of uncertainty and red tape, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the incredible professionals who stood by us through one of the most difficult chapters of our lives.
After nearly nine months of obstacles, setbacks, and countless revisions following the devastating fire that left our home uninhabitable, we have finally reached the point where demolition can move forward. As a mother who has experienced childbirth, this nine-month journey has been the most emotionally exhausting experience of my life. It tested my strength, my patience, and my determination in ways I never imagined. There were many moments when I felt like giving up, but this remarkable team never did.

A heartfelt thank you to our engineers, Frank Villano and Tim Tweedy, along with Adrian Wysocki, and our architect. Through every objection, every revision, and every challenge presented during the permitting process, they never gave up. They worked tirelessly to address every requirement, answer every objection, and keep the project moving forward when it often felt impossible.
I would also like to extend my sincere appreciation to our demolition contractors, Malbro Contractors, and especially Dennis Maloney and Peter Maloney, who stood by me every step of the process and ensured that my house was demolished safely. Their professionalism, reliability, and support during such a critical phase meant more to my family than words can express.
Their professionalism, patience, and commitment gave my family hope during a time when we needed it most. They reminded us that perseverance, teamwork, and compassion truly make a difference.

I would also like to thank everyone else who supported us throughout this journey. The kindness shown by our community has meant more than words can express, and we will never forget it.
As we begin the next chapter of rebuilding, I wanted to publicly recognize these remarkable individuals for the work they have done and the hope they have helped restore to my family. My family and I will always be grateful for the dedication they showed in helping us move one step closer to coming home.

With sincere gratitude,
Marissa Perrotta
