Dear Editor:
After hearing Sunday’s Gospel and Fr. Kuroly’s homily, it made me think back many months to when St. Camillus was closing. It was a difficult time. Seeds were landing in all different places. However, some seeds found good soil that hung on to hope and prayer that St. Camillus was not going to close. No pun intended but a grass roots effort sprung up to work on saving St. Camillus because “you never know” what could happen. Over the months, more seeds took root in the good soil because “you never know.” Maybe we can save St. Camillus. Then the day came when the growth and strength of the seeds was undeniable all because “you never know.” Today we know! Through the prayer and faith of all the seeds that grew, St. Camillus is open. Now how do we keep St. Camillus open? We all need to continue our efforts to nourish the soil so more seeds can take root so we can continue to grow and bear fruit.
We continue the St. Camillus Novena this week at 7 p.m. The last night is Friday, July 17, followed by a Healing Service. On Saturday, July 18 we will be celebrating our recent St. Camillus journey with a Pot Luck Supper in Springman Hall at 6 p.m. All are welcome to join our celebration. Just bring a dish and refreshments. DJ and fun will be provided.
